About the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit
The Medica Sur Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit is the only place in Mexico to provide the ExAblate 2000 treatment, a certified procedure acknowledged as the most effective and non-invasive surgical method for the thermal ablation of uterine fibroids.
Medica Sur Magnetic Resonance Imaging was inaugurated in 1996. Throughout these 13 years of existence we have attended about 60 thousand patients; we have performed 120 thousand magnetic resonance studies; and we have used almost a million x-ray photographic films and 590 contrast agents. We work 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
We have the privilege to be the only private hospital center to provide its patients with two magnetic resonance units within the same center, of 3.0 Tesla and 1.5 Tesla, respectively.
Thanks to our national and international prestige, we receive patients with the most difficult cases to diagnose, and since the year 2000 we have been a well-known postgraduate degree center acknowledged by the Medicine School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). We serve governmental, legislative, financial, business, sports, and social service institutions on a regular basis.
