Infertility and Fibroids
According to their position and size, fibroids may impede pregnancy.
If you are having fertility problems, the existence of fibroids is a probable cause that you may want to corroborate.

How do I know if I have uterine fibroids?

Below are the common symptoms of uterine fibroids:
- Unremitting pelvic pain.
- Long-lasting, abundant, and painful menstrual bleeding.
- Blood spots between periods.
- Pain during sexual intercourse.
- Difficulty urinating or frequent urination.
- Constipation.
- Abdominal swelling.
- Lower back or leg pain.
Once these symptoms appear, your doctor would have to perform a pelvic examination. If he or she feels your uterus is enlarged or its surface is abnormal, he will recommend you to have some studies done. The first will be a pelvic ultrasound, which will enable him or her to confirm the presence of fibroids, and in such case, their number, position, and size.
